Redruth-My Birthplace
My name is Alistair George, and I was born in Redruth Cornwall in 1943. In 1970 I emigrated with my wife Trish, and two children Rachel and Andrew to Australia.
A lot of water under the bridge, and some that I would like to record via the internet. Hopefully some folk may glean some useful information from it.
I will provide information on my heritage which is recorded going back to 1538 AD. Before that I believe we originated from Greece. Also hobbies that are dear to me; my art, and cooking.

Now and Then
After a 36 hour flight with B.O.A.C. we arrived in Sydney on February 10 1970. Trish was six months prenant then with our third child Naomi Carmen. It was a very hot day, and Trish had a fur collar coat on. We were a little naive then. We were met by Cornish friends Cynthia and Arthur Archer.

After our arrival in Sydney, we travelled to Melbourne with Ansett Airlines to be met by Mr Frank Boyd, and his Children. Frank had lived in the same street as Trish in Camborne, and was befriended by Trisha's Mother after Frank had lost his wife to illness. Frank said that if we ever wanted to come to Australia, he would sponser us, so we ended up at 181 Maidstone Street Altona, Victoria. We shared his house for awhile with him , and his children Colleen, John ,and Eamon
